Syria to increase clean gas

The Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Soufian Allaw has confirmed that there will be an investment for the Hayyan Gas factory in November and will actually commence production as soon as next year.  Initial excavation for the Hyyan project began in 2005 with the Croatian Ena company.

The production potential for Hayyan Gas factory is actually very compelling with projections to increase clean gas quantity in Syria up to 3.5 million cubic meters per day. In addition, the quantity of produced oil will be up to 6000 barrels per day, in addition to producing 180 tons of gas for home use.

With the addition of the Hayyan Gas factory, there are now 3 similar establishments spreading throughout the south Central Region, Ebla, and recently Homs.

In addition to definite gains for the Hyyan Gas factory, the inauguration has also created over 200 job opportunities for the Syrian people. The job opportunities are specially going to be directed to technicians, engineers, and administrative posts. Results will be a great boost for moral due to the quantities of gas that will be available after production.

Croatian Ena Company, Petrofac, and the Hyyan Company contributed to funding the project at an estimated € 291 million. The national company of Syria, Leed will participate in installing machines in the factory as the executive company for this project.
